New Urbana Elementary & Middle School
According to the latest mailing from Frederick County Public
Schools, a new Elementary School for Urbana is scheduled to open
in 2005, the same year the expansion of Urbana High School is
expected to be completed. Coming in 2006, a new Middle
School is expected to open in Urbana as well.

Turning Point Inn Closes
The Turning Point Inn of Urbana quietly closed it's doors
towards the end of December after two decades in business.
According to the Gazette Newspapers... Owner Charles Seymour in
a statement said that he would give "no reason for the inn's
closing at this time, but ... there are ongoing issues with the
development of Urbana."

New Elementary School Approved, Waffle
House Signage Must Stick to County Limits
The Urbana area has been bustling with new news
over the Christmas and New Years Holidays. Among the
items, a new Elementary School was approved and will be named
Centerville Elementary. It will be located at the north
east corner of Route 80 and Carriage Hill Drive in the Villages
of Urbana and similar in design to Deer Crossing Elementary.
In other news, the Waffle House coming to Urbana was told that
the 90 feet of signage it wanted would be limited to 48
feet according to county limits. Visit the Digital Urbana
