Taste of Frederick County Comes To Grove Stadium

Spend the afternoon at Harry Grove Stadium on Sunday, June 20 and enjoy a Taste of Frederick County as area restaurants and caterers offer samples of their cuisine. Buy your tickets in advance for $15 or pay $20 at the door. Children ages 6 through 12 are $5. For more information or to purchase your tickets call 800-874-1313 or 877-8GO-KEYS. Fireworks To Light The Urbana Sky

The Urbana Volunteer Fire Company has announced their Annual Community Carnival to be held July 19-24, featuring fantastic fireworks that will light the night skies on Wednesday the 21st.  Pay one price, ride till closing is Monday July 19, Discount ride ticket night is the Thursday the 22nd.  Parking, Admission and Entertainment is free.  Games, rides, food, music and more are staples of this yearly community tradition.

Redistricting Plan To Separate Villages of Urbana Children: Meeting Tonight at Urbana Elementary

Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS) is holding a meeting this evening that will discuss Redistricting for the Urbana Area. The way the proposal appears to be written, it will split the children of the Villages of Urbana up between the new school (Centerville) and the existing Urbana Elementary, which has parents in an uproar. Flyers have been circulated around the community by Elizabeth Roche and the Villages of Urbana Community Associate who are asking concerned parents to contact her and attend meeting taking place tonight at Urbana Elementary from 6:30 to 8pm.
